Sarah Wildes Arnett is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer from Concord, NC, just outside the city of Charlotte. She has been married to her husband, Jordan, since 2008 and moved to Valdosta in 2012 with their crazy golden retriever, Wiley.Sarah grew up dancing and swimming competitively, competing all four years as a Varsity swimmer and regional qualifier in the women's 100m breaststroke and relay teams. She was also an active member of many music ensembles through her schools and ultimately went to compete with the 7-time World Champion Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Music City Mystique (Nashville, TN) earning a gold and bronze medal at World Championships during her time with the group. She also spent two summers with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (Dubuque, IA) touring and competing across the US. Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently is Assistant Professor of Dance at Valdosta State University, teaching courses in dance technique, dance sciences, choreography and repertory. She continues to perform and choreograph professionally at a national level, but you might see her on stage with Valdosta's professional summer musical theatre company, Peach State Summer Theatre.
Sarah has been teaching group fitness since 2008, beginning with certifications in SPINNING and Zumba. When she found Crossfit in 2014, she fell in love and decided to become a Crossfit Level 1 Trainer in April of 2015. For her, Crossfit has been able to fill a similar need as dance classes - the challenge is both mental and physical with a huge helping of camaraderie and communal success. Her favorite thing about Crossfit is that there is ALWAYS something to get better at and to improve. Crossfit has helped her make it through the long days of being active and on her feet but has also made her a stronger individual, teaching her humility and perseverance.
